Amidst India’s evolving socio-political landscape, we are thrilled to announce the sixth cohort of our Flagship Ambassadors program starting Saturday June 14, 2025! Drawing from the successes and lessons of our previous cohorts, we are proud to present an enhanced program for girls, women and non-binary individuals across India, ages 14 - 20.

This virtual fellowship will run from June 14 to July 6 2025, with workshop sessions between 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM IST on weekends. The program will give you an opportunity to:
Understand our democracy through our parliament and constitution
Reflect on value-based civic leadership and the importance of a representative democracy
Unpack how girls and women can be changemakers and can address India’s most pressing issues including the climate crisis
Participate in team based problem-solving and simulation exercises
Q&A with expert speakers, including public leaders, non-profit and policy professionals
Build connections and learn from other participants who have different lived experiences than you do but are passionate about the same issues.
Participants from previous cohorts have reported significant improvements in critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, public speaking, and planning skills. Upon completion, all participants will receive a certificate of participation and, if required, a letter of recommendation from our founder.

Q. Is there an in-person component of the program?
A: No, the program is completely virtual and will be held on Zoom.
Q. I don’t identify as a woman or a non-binary individual, can I still apply?
A. Unfortunately, our program caters to girls, women and non-binary people.
Q. I am above the age of 20, can I still apply?
A: Unfortunately, our program is specifically designed for the ages of 14 - 20. If you are over the age of 20 and interested in politics, there are other organisations that can support you.
Q. I cannot attend all sessions. Can I still participate?
A: A big part of our program is based on group work and therefore it is unfair to an individual’s team if they are not present. To complete the program, you must be present for at least 80% of the sessions and must inform the team in advance when you cannot attend the sessions.
Q. What language will the sessions be conducted in?
A: Most of our workshops and sessions will be conducted in English, with a couple in Hindi. If you need additional support with language or translations please write to fellowship@kuviraa.org and we will try to make arrangements for you.
Q. What is the time commitment for this program?
A: The total number of contact hours for the program is 20 hours over four weeks. In addition to this, we expect participants to spend about 10 hours on group projects based on their own convenience. This will vary based on each group.
Q. How big is the cohort expected to be?
A: We are expecting a group size of 20 - 25 participants.
Q. Who will host and moderate the sessions?
A: Majority of the sessions will be moderated by the Kuviraa team including our Founder Shevika who has over a decade of work experience with non-profits, governments and philanthropies across education, climate change and women and girls initiatives across the world. Shevika has earned a BA in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai and a Master’s in Public Policy from the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford as a Chevening Scholar.
Some of our sessions are moderated by Advisors and Kuviraa Alumni too.
Q. What type of submissions or projects are we expected to do?
A: The main simulation exercise is where participants research different communities in India and suggest welfare schemes from them. In addition, you will participate in a Janta Parliament to understand how laws are passed in India.
Q. Do we get to form our own teams?
A: No. You will be randomly assigned teams by Kuviraa.
Q. I cannot afford the fees of the program, can I still apply?
A: Yes! Please do not let the program fee be a reason for you to not apply. We have a limited number of partial and full scholarships which will be provided to deserving applicants on a needs basis. Please flag this in your application.
Q. I have my exams but am really interested in the program. What can I do?
A: In the past we have had applicants who have participated during their exams as this program is only on the weekend. If you still feel like you will not be able to do justice to the program, please apply to be part of the next cohort which will be released earlier next year.
Please write to fellowship@kuviraa.org with other queries.
